India is on top at 6.50 PM (IST) and the team is on course for one of their biggest victories in England ever. England was struggling at 149 for 6 with the hosts depending on their captain Joe Root to save the Test match. The visitors took the first wicket of the innings by dismissing Rory Burns who was dismissed by a peach of a delivery from Shardul Thakur, the man with some serious combination of talent and luck. After the dismissal of Burns, India tightened the scoring rate of England and in turn, the England batsmen started to feel the pressure.
Dawid Malan was runout in the process of stealing a quick run. That wicket was the result of the pressure created by the Indian bowlers who bowled very tight without leaking easy runs from the start of the day. Malan was run out by Mayank Agarwal the substitute player with the help of the wicket-keeper Pant.
Ravindra Jadeja was bowling like a workhorse from one end, focussing on the rough patches to get the drift and turn to take the outside edge or to clip the top off stump. Hameed negated the negative line of Jadeja really well until that one delivery spun past the outside edge and shattered the off-stump of the batsman.
Bumrah took England batsmen’s stumps for a ride
The hosts were 141-3 at this stage with Root and Ollie Pope hoping to bail out the home team. But then came India’s pace spearhead Bumrah and produced a gem of a delivery to shatter the stumps of the Ollie pope. After the wicket of Pope, Bumrah produced another peach of a yorker to dismiss Bairstow for a duck.
After the wicket of Bairstow, Moeen Ali was dismissed by Jadeja an absolute beauty, and Moeen got out for a duck leaving England at 147 for 6. Bumrah was spitting fire bowling with some sheer pace and bounce.
At this stage of the match, With the way India bowling, If India manages to dismiss England captain Joe Root, It’ll be the game for India. Currently, Woakes and Root were battling it out in the hopes of saving the match and settling for a draw.
