Wish what a day it was the final day of the second test. England bowlers were in full energy and confidence to make India all out soon so that they could push for a win.
But wait! there is a twist in the tale. Rishabh Pant was in attacking mode from the ball one bowled and he was going hard on the English bowlers.
Every Cricket fan including me had a thought that there will be a big score seeing the way Pant was batting. In Cricket, unexpected things tends to happen in the first place right, so as I said Rishabh Pant who was playing fearlessly was trapped by Ollie Robinsion, edged and caught by Josbutler.
After Rishabh Pant went to the dressing room here comes Shami the tail-ender batsman in the center along with Ishantsharma while the partnership was building between them Ishant’s wicket was taken by the Robinsion again and from now on we are going to witness some heroic efforts that are going to happen in the upcoming sessions of the match.
Shami played some loose shots in the initial stages but later he was set. He played beautiful shots like cover drive which was nice to view from the dressing room balcony for Virat and co and both the pair was set and was building up for a huge lead.
Both players grew in confidence as the partnership progressed and they dominated England bowlers in the second hour of the session, playing awesome cover drives and slog sweeps and Shami who was fine with his innings and he was set to reach his half-century with Moeen Ali bowling and he smashed a four and a humongous six to reach his 50 runs with style, England bowlers seemed hopeless by this time.
They tried all their bowling options like Anderson, Robbinson, Wood, Ali, and all sort of combinations through the tail stick at the end for a huge partnership and also treated their bowlers well to damage their line and length and the partnership between Shami and Bumrah took India a huge lead.
Both Shami and Bumrah came together for an inspiring 89-run stand for the ninth wicket to frustrate England and spoil their plans. Eventually, India declared minutes after the lunch break. England was set a target of 272 and they had 60 overs to either chase it down or play for a draw.
However, they lost both their openers for ducks in the first two overs, and from there on, India was on fire mode while they took that positive momentum with them and all bowlers were pumped up to the victory. Now Indian captain Virat Kohli was way animated with the emotions he carried he was encouraging his team and bowlers a lot so that the win becomes easier and it will be remembered for a long span of time. India sensed victory
They sensed the victory and wrapped up the home team(England) with the same team out for 120 in 51.5 over.
And all the bowling unit was awesome in team India Special mention to Siraj where he took almost fifer in both the innings but missed he took only 8 wickets with four in the first and another four in the second. His bowling line and length were spot on and the variations he used were top-notch to them and then he used the variation scrambled seam to perfection where it got the two main wickets one is Ali and the other one is Sam Curran who was dismissed for a golden duck.
And the over Siraj bowls last Anderson was facing while the stumps shattered it was a delight to watch where everybody in the audience, Indian dressing room all were enjoying the moment. and coming to the end India’s victory was confirmed in the Lord’s cricket ground which will be remembered for a long time and it will be a memorable one for team India.
To conclude this blog where team India won the second test in Lord’s cricket ground with an action-packed sequence in the middle with Bumrah and Shami heroic moments in the middle and seized the victory in style. and not forget the man-of-match Kl Rahul Klassical innings.
