India vs New Zealand WTC Final test Day 1 Updates:
Cricket fans all over the world were eagerly waiting for the much-awaited World Test Championship final. As Virat Kohli’s India taking on Kane Williamson’s New Zealand in the World Test Championship final at the Rose Bowl, in Southampton.
The match was supposed to begin at 3:30 IST with the toss taking place at 3 pm but the toss has been delayed and the decision that there will be no play at least till lunch on the first day of the WTC final was made official about an hour before the toss.
The first session of the World Test Championship between India and New Zealand has been washed out due to the continuous drizzle at Southampton. Later, at 2.50 PM local time and 7.20 PM IST it has been announced that the day has been washed out and abandoned without a ball being bowled.
As per the schedule of the ICC (International Cricket Council), the WTC final has a reserve day on June 23rd (i.e) the 6th day of the test match. The reserve day will be taken only if required. But the 6th day won’t be utilized if the match is drawn after the full play of five days. In such a case, the match result will be a draw, which will see India and New Zealand sharing the WTC Trophy.
