India vs NZ WTC Day 2

India finished the day on 146 for 3 after facing 64.4 overs. That brings an end to a frustrating day of test cricket after India was put in to bat by New Zealand.

Earlier, NZ win the toss and decided to bowl first. Trent Boult and Tim Southee gave New Zealand an average opening spell as Southee was wayward with this line and length.

India got off to a really solid 62-run with the help of the opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, with both perishing after playing poor shots. Rohit scored 34, with Gill scoring 28, while Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed after a slow knock of 8 from 54 deliveries, which pushed India to 88/3, but the skipper Virat Kohli and the vice captain Ajinkya Rahane batted exceptionally well against some quality pace-bowling from the NZ bowlers to raise an unbeaten partnership of 58 for the fourth wicket, with Virat Kohli being unbeaten on 44 and being the top scorer of the innings at this point, while Rahane is not out on 29.
