The 2nd Test between India and England is mid-way at Lord’s in London. England was bowled out for 391 by India on the 3rd day and England gave a sudden comeback of the 2nd test. The Indian team scored 364 runs in the first innings which put a little pressure on the England team. Haseeb Hameed who came next was bowled by Siraj in the first ball he faced.
The Captain’s Responsible Game
England stumbled in quick succession after losing 2 wickets for 23 runs. Captain Joe Root, who came in, rescued the team from the slump. Root who was paired with opening batsman Rory Burns added 85 for the third wicket. Rory burns who was playing well gone for 49 runs. Joe Root who was on the other end, however, continued to give nightmares to the Indian bowlers with his captain’s knock.
Meanwhile, Bairstow and Joe Root scored 100runs quickly in their partnership gave Indian bowlers headaches. Mohammed Siraj broke the partnership and Jonny Bairstow was out for 57.
However, Indian bowlers were worried by Joe Root as their efforts could not bring the wicket of England’s captain but they got the wickets of batsmen who were on the other side. Runs from Root’s bat continued to flow and he scored a century. Thus increasing the pressure on the Indian bowlers, Captain Kohli who immediately set up a strategy, instructed the bowlers to take the wickets of the players at the other end, without seeing Joe Root. It Paid off. Butler followed Bairstow with 23, Moein Ali with 27, Sam Curran on 0. Robinson for 6, Mark wood for 5, and Anderson 0 were all out without a partnership. But Joe root, on the other hand, struggled as a lone batsman to score 180 not out until the last. Root’s 22nd test hundred has put his side in a good position in this test.
England was all out for 391 and currently, 27 runs ahead of the Indian team.
