Rishabh Pant, the India wicketkeeper Batsmen tested positive for COVID-19 as per the BCCI sources report. Pant attended the Euro 2020 football match and also posted pictures with the fans on Twitter and the wicketkeeper batsmen will be in quarantine until he clears the covid-19 test and the other players will be playing in a tour match at Durham from July 20th against the England County Championship team.
Rishabh Pant is part of the Indian team against England scheduled to start on August 4th. Pant will not be travelling with the Indian team and to be quarantined until he clears the Covid-19 test.
It’s been confirmed by a BCCI source that, ” He is in quarantine at an acquaintance’s place and won’t be traveling with the team to Durham on Thursday,” the source said without divulging when the 23-year-old would join the squad.”
BCCI President has also been said that “One more player was also tested positive but he has been in isolation for the last 8 days, but the player was not staying with others in the same hotel room. So no other players were tested positive apart from Pant.
Further into this matter, as of now no other players are tested positive and have been asked to follow the protocols strictly by the BCCI vice president Rajiv Sukhla. Also BCCI secretary Jay Shah strictly asked the players to maintain the covid-19 protocols.
The much-awaited India versus England test series will be starting on August 4th, also this marks the start of the second cycle of the World test Championship. Recently the first world test Championship final has been played between India versus New Zealand and the WTC final has been won by New Zealand.
