PSL 2021 will resume on June 9th in Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium,Abu Dhabi. Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that the remainder of the 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League will resume on June 9th. 30 matches in the group stage are pending followed by the playoffs and the grand final will be played on June 24.
Pakistan Cricket League remainder consists of six double headers, which also includes the Qualifier and Eliminator 1 games on June 21. Earlier, only 15 matches were played in this year’s PSL before the surge in the COVID-19 cases inside the bio-bubble forced the tournament to postpone on March 4.
The teams will start practicing from June 3rd to 8th, while the first match will be played between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars. The double headers are scheduled on June 10,13,15,17,19 and 21.
As per Cricbuzz, PCB chief Wasim Khan quoted saying , “There was a consensus between the PCB and the franchises that it was imperative to complete the remaining matches in 2021 so that we have a clean 2022 for HBL PSL 7. Now, after overcoming all obstacles through due diligence and careful planning, I believe we have collectively achieved the desired objective that was set in March following the postponement.
“I can assure all the fans that our priority was always to deliver the complete tournament in Pakistan. However, due to extenuating circumstances, we had to shift from that thinking for the remaining matches.”
