Rahul Dravid is expected to be the Team India’s coach for the limited Over’s squad that is touring Srilanka in July. BCCI is yet to make a formal announcement regarding this but The Wall of Indian cricket is likely to tour Sri Lanka in the absence of Indian team’s head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and batting coach Vikram Rathour, who will all be with the Test squad in Engalnd from early June to late September for the World Test Championship final and the five Tests against England.
Dravid is currently working as the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Staff members of NCA are split into two parties as one travels with the Indian Women’s Cricket team to England and the other will travel with Dravid to Srilanka.
India is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is from July 13-27 with a second-string squad because 20 of India’s top players and four standbys will be in England at the time. Having coached several India A and Under-19 sides over the last few years, Dravid will already be familiar with numerous India players who are likely to be picked for the Sri Lanka tour.
