Sri Lanka beat India by 7 wickets in the 3rd T20 and won the T20 series 2-1. India was completely dominated by Sri Lanka bowlers as they restricted the Indian batting lineup to 81 for 8 in the 20 overs.
India won the toss and chose to bat first in the series decider and Dhawan fell for 0 that puts India under pressure in the early phase of the match. From there, India was never comfortable in their whole batting as the Sri Lankan bowlers strike continuously in regular intervals.
Wanindu Hasaranga, the birthday boy decimated the inexperienced Indian batting line-up by taking 4 wickets for 9 runs in his 4 overs. The Sri Lankan captain, Dashun Shanaka played his part by taking 2 wickets for 20 runs in his quota of 4 overs and took two good catches of Nitish Rana and Bhuvanesh Kumar to support Wanindu Hasaranga in restricting India to their third-lowest score in T20 Internationals. Kuldeep Yadav is the top scorer for the Indian team scoring 23 runs off 28 deliveries
Sri Lanka started off their chase very cautiously and scored 22 runs at the end of the 5th over. R Chahar struck for India in the penultimate ball of the end of the powerplay by taking the wicket of A Fernando for 12 runs. He struck again at the end of the 8th over by dismissing Bhanuka for 18 runs.
Chahar got little help from the other bowlers as the Sri Lankan batsmen chipped away with the singles and twos and Chahar struck one more time in the last ball of his spell and got rid of Samarawickrama by cleaning him up for 6 runs.
Then the Sri Lankan team chased the target slowly without any further difficulties and beat India by 7 wickets to win the series 2-1.
