India vs England: England finished Day 2 at 119/3 after bowling India out for 364 in the second Test at Lord’s.
The hosts, England was 119/3 at day 2 end while India was still dominating them. India posted a score of 364 in the first innings with the bat. While KL Rahul showed his class with the bat and showed why he is the major asset to team India as an opener.
The addition of KL Rahul to the side brings a lot of difference because he is combined with the opening pair Rohit Sharma. They both put a great 100 run partnership and the innings were set for a big score.
After that England bowlers somehow managed to break the opening partnership with the help of the “Swing King” James Anderson and the stumps were shattered in the forty-third over and an opening partnership was broken.
Later in the second half of the play, Rahul completed his century and unfortunately got trapped in Robinson bowling. After the wicket of KL Rahul, Pujara again showed his poor batting display and he could not survive for long.
Later in the tail, Rishabh Pant’s quick knock of 37 runs with Jadeja made gave a decent score to put on the board and the team India dominated with the bat. Overall, India managed to make 364 in their first innings.
Now India is in a strong position at the end of Day 2 as India grabbed 3 wickets with the ball in the first innings of England’s play with the help of the Indian pacers Mohammad Shami and Siraj. While Siraj picked two wickets and England’s score was 165-3 at the end of Day 2.
Rahul batted beautifully and played some excellent cricketing shots made sure that India are in comfortable position before getting out to Robinson. While KL Rahul starred for India with the bat James Anderson starred for England to take his 31st five Wicket haul and continued to bail out England from difficult situations.
