Virat Kohli, the Indian Captain, and RCB Captain posed for photos along with the other members of the franchise wearing a blue jersey for RCB. RCB will be resuming their campaign in the second leg of the IPL in the UAE by playing against KKR on September 20th in Abu Dhabi.
RCB is going to wear the blue jersey which is different from their original one. The franchise is doing this in order to honor the frontline workers all over the world who did a commendable job in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, during May 2021, RCB had decided to play in the blue jersey in India. But due to the increase in the number of cases in India and also a bio bubble breach lead to the suspension of IPL 2021 in India.
The BCCI shifted the IPL out of India and planned to host the remainder of the season in the UAE from September 19 to October 15.
In the previous years, RCB used to sport the green jersey in support of Go Green India and now they have decided to wear the blue jersey to honor, help, and support the frontline health workers to pay tribute to their hard work during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Instead of their ‘Go Green’ jersey campaign, RCB will be sporting blue color jersey this year. Their blue jerseys will also have an important healthcare message posted on them.
