After England’s poor show in the second test, the attacking left-handed opener David Malan was recalled. India vs England’s 3rd test is all set to happen in the Headingley, Leeds. India is leading in the current series as 1-0 in the five-match series after the humungous win in the second test with a margin of 151 runs. At Lord’s on Monday where they wrapped up England innings out for just 120.
Sibley was Poor in his batting and his score was very low and which shows that he is clearly not a batsman in-form. While he was just averaging just 14 in the first two matches of this series and under 20 in Test cricket this year.
Sibley’s poor performance paved the way for David Malan which keenly shows how important his performance is going to be during the upcoming test and the expectations will be very high. From his standards what he sets to be an attacking T-20 batsman and he is the only left-hander in the opening slots for England so it will be a great advantage for him and also not to forget.
While Malan has played only one first-class match this season and scored 199 runs in it and he has improved a lot as a player and also he groomed himself as an international player to become the top-ranked T-20 player in the world.
He last played test cricket in the month of August-2018. Hence England’s squad is like Malan will be playing in the number 3 spot. Along with Haseeb Hameed and Rory, burns are expected as per the sources to open the innings. To add to the squad, Ollie pope is added where he will be playing in the middle order to balance the side.
There is one more addition to the squad. Chris Woakes who has a heel injury could not able to play. While a new player named Saquib Mahmood has a great chance to make test debut
With England promising left-hand batsman and all-rounder Moeen Ali back to the squad and set himself up in his position strong and secure. There is no position for Jack leach or Domnic Bess in the squad.
According To England team coach Chris Silverwood, He stated that the test series is coming into action from the upcoming match. We are with full intent to bounce back as a team (England)
Particularly David Malan coming back to the side. He has a lot of experience in all the formats I am confident that he can do well in his home ground for sure.
Adding more power /strength to our squad Zak Crawley will return to kent to energize the excellent work he did at the nets was remarkable. To me as an England coach believe that. He has a bright future and I do not doubt that his time will come again in the test venture.
